Group Therapy for Therapists

I help therapists overcome isolation, burnout, imposter syndrome, and anxiety in a group setting to help them feel more supported, calm, organized and empowered so they can confidently lead successful and fulfilling lives.

If you identify with any of the following, this group could be for you:

  • I am not good enough to be a therapist

  • I have no idea what I am doing

  • I need to have my own issues fixed before I can help anyone else

  • If my clients only knew what my life was really like, they would never come back

  • I don’t know how I am going to make it through another session

  • I hope this client cancels

  • I don’t like this client and I have no idea why or what to do

  • I am afraid I won’t get any clients

  • I don’t know what to do with this client

  • I am the only therapist who thinks like this

  • Maybe I should have been an accountant

Group therapy is A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE. I understand many of you may have facilitated groups, observed how impactful they are in your clients’ lives, but have you ever had an opportunity yourself to sit with other therapists, have them really listen, and say, “Me, too.” Maybe this happened during lunch breaks (are you getting those?) or at Happy Hours (anyone concerned about their alcohol use?) but these experiences are not the same as being a part of group therapy. During this group, we will be holding a safe space for any and all issues that are troubling you. Yes, there may be some psychoeducation if appropriate; however, the style of the group is one of process. What is happening in the here and now today that is causing doubt, stress, anxiety, tears, sleepless nights, and even depression? All topics are welcome. Judgment is not. We may use a little CBT and even EMDR. Ever heard of FLASH? If not, come on through and find out! We will definitely use a lot of humor and love. Therapists need more of both.

Participating in therapy and being open about it with our family, friends, and clients is important:

It helps reduce the stigma attached to mental health treatment.

‘If it’s good enough for us, it’s good enough for you.’ (And vice versa!)
